The first Podcast of 2014 is scheduled for midweek here on GaelicSportsCast and lighting the road ahead for the new year the focus is on a brand new location of growth for Gaelic Football in Europe.
In the autonimous region of Galicia in Spain (north of Portugal) the attraction of Gaelic football has arrived in this area of almost 3 million people. The region has strong Celtic roots and recently several Gaelic ‘all-Galician’ football clubs started up along with a governing association and a very first ‘Liga Galega’.
In the Podcast we will talk with one of the directors of the new Asociación Galega de Fútbol Gaélico, and the secretary of the A Coruña Fillos de Breogán club, Carlos Seco González, about the arrival of Gaelic football in Galicia and the very first five-team men’s and three-team ladies leagues.
