# 584 Hurling Road Trip

hurling road tripOn the eve of the All Ireland Hurling Final, with people from all corners of the island readying to journey to Dublin’s Croke Park Stadium, we look back on another road trip quite like no other.

A journey that took place back on Memorial Week in the month of May in America. A first of sorts as it surely must rank as the longest ever Hurling Road Trip in the history of the great and ancient sport.

Nine brave souls set off from UC Berkeley in California one Tuesday morning on a truly epic journey across America to attend the US College GAA Nationals in Indiana and four days later they hit the playing fields of Purdue University to play hurling.

In the Podcast, we talk to one of the Nine, Cal Berkeley Hurling Club President and team captain Richard Alexander Douglas about the journey, the nationals and hurling.
