The Vancouver GAA season gets underway this evening Thursday May 24, with the start of the Ladies Football Championship at Stanley Park in the city.
On account of a growing number of players – not only Irish immigrants but International and Canadian players as well – a new league format sees clubs divided into six smaller teams at Junior Adult and Senior grades.
Here to tell us about the new format, the season ahead for mens football, as well as the growing hurling and camogie squads, is Vancouver GAA official and former Western Canadian GAA Chairman, Ronan Deane.
