After last week’s weather disruption, the Warwickshire Football League was back in action with no major surprises over the weekend at Pairc na hEireann, Birmingham.
Senior Football league leaders, Sean McDermotts (extra game) had a very easy win over fourth place St. Mary’s, while next in line St. Barnabas, received a walkover in their game against second from the bottom, John Mitchells. The most competitive game on Sunday saw an important result for Naomh Padraig when they recorded a four point win over third place Erin-go-Bragh. The former jump one place to fifth but are level on points with St. Marys.
Next weekend promises to be an exciting one as Sean McDermotts and St. Barnabas go head-to-head in a top of the table clash.
Yesterday’s intermediate football league saw more competitive games as Sons of Erin had a good win over leaders St. Josephs, with victories also for St. Chads and Rugby Gaels.
