# 318 Brisbane open season

Brisbane GAA in Queensland, Australia is up and running for the new year with the return of the Sevens Summer Gaelic Football Competition.

This time last year the venue at Willawong, Brisbane was devastated by flooding and so the ‘Sevens competition – which is geared for new players both local and Irish – did not get played but last Friday the Summer Competition was once more back in action.

There are 20 teams in total and it is broken into mens and ladies competition picked from the 7 clubs in the city and takes place over four rounds each week.

Queensland and Australasian GAA President, Seamus Sullivan gives us a rundown on Friday’s event.
