The 21st British Universities Mens Gaelic Football Championship, due to start Friday, will go ahead this weekend despite the bad weather but will see venues split between Birmingham and Manchester.
The three day championships are held annually in Birmingham but because of freezing pitches many of the fields there have been ruled unplayable. One Birmingham venue however is good to go Friday and it will see Division 2 action, while Division 1 games will be switched to Manchester.
The Group Stages sees Division One games at Hough End, Mauldeth Rd West, Cholton, Manchester for 10.15am, Friday Feb 10, while Division Two games will be at Erin Go Bragh’s pitch, Holly Lane, Erdington, Birmingham, for 9.15am, Friday morning.
British Universities Chairman, Peter Mossey, spoke to GaelicSportsCast yesterday, Wednesday, Feb 9th about the situation leading up to the rescheduling of games, and, also talked about the top fancies this year.
