#306 ‘Garage and ‘Wheelers into Wellington semis

The action over the past two weeks in this year’s Gaelic Mixed Summer Sevens has been hectic as a plethora of catch-up games, due to rained-out schedules, has had to take place. However, the folks in Wellington GAA, being a steady lot, have battled through adversity to return with a normal programme this week at Ian Galloway Park.

This Wednesday night sees the last round of the ‘Summer Sevens before the finals on Sunday, and some very interesting matches should command a good crowd.

Two teams stand out at this juncture with Pool A’s unbeaten leader’s, The Garage already through to the semi finals, as are Pool B’s impressive table toppers, Wheelbarrow Wheelers.

Here to talk about who could be joining them in the finals is Wellington GAA President, Donal Kavanagh and guest this week, Gaelic football newcomer and top local New Zealand rugby referee, Scott McLean.
