This week in our continuing focus on the Gaelic Sports scene in the New York area, GaelicSportsCast looks at a new and very interesting club in Westchester County, the Setanta Gaelic Football Club.
Founded just three short years ago, the club affiliated to the New York GAA Minor Board, set out from the start to broaden the scope of the player base beyond the Irish American community and introduce Gaelic football to mainstream America.
This strategy has worked wonders for the promotion of the sport in the region and to talk more about that and get an insight into Setanta’s beginnings, we speak today with founder member and Setanta GFC President, Jerry Padian.
