#291 Fulham create history in London

Fulham Irish made history last weekend at Ruislip as the club won their first ever London senior football championship title.

Sunday’s final saw Fulham going into the game as underdogs as they were up against the more fancied Parnells who had been runners-up in last year’s final.

However after a slow start it was the Fulham side that forced the issue and despite a late surge from Parnells, the south London team came out deserved victors in the end on a scoreline of [11] 1-8 to [7] 0-7.

Parnells had better luck in the minor football final when running out convincing winners over Tir Chonaill Gaels by [16] 1-13 [6] 0-6.

Meanwhile in the London Camogie Final, Tara maintained their dominance in the code when ousting Croydon by [15] 2-9 to [9] 2-3.
Tara have now completed the championship and league treble over the past three years and as championship winners now go on to face the Ulster club champions at the end of October.

Here to tell us all about the senior football final and the rest of the weekend’s action is London GAA Chairman, Tommy Harrell.
