#277 NY ladies into All Ireland final as Astoria, NY Donegal and NY Westmeath advance in the Bronx

After Hurricane Irene left New York GAA fixtures blowing in the wind a week ago, it was back to action in the Bronx yesterday as we had the first of the NY GAA football playoff in the mens intermediate and junior football championship.

In the two Intermediate quarter final playoffs, NY Donegal took on NY Rangers and Astoria Gaels played Brooklyn/Long Island Gaels.

There was just the one junior quarter final playoff on the card for Sunday and this saw Cavan taking on Westmeath.

While all this was going on over the weekend, the New York Ladies football team was excelling in the All Ireland Junior Ladies Football Championship 3000 miles away on the Green Isle.

Here to tell us about that match and give a full report on all the action from the Bronx is NY GAA reporter, Eugene Kyne.
