In the race for places for this year’s Northeast Playoffs, three spots were filled last Sunday at Canton, MA with two of the first semi finalists decided in football while a hurling final place was also handed out.
In the mens senior football championship, Aidan McAnespies with a win over Wolfe Tones secured the outright top spot this year, and along with Connemara Gaels who beat 2010 champions, Donegal, sees both victors fill the first two semi final births.
In senior hurling meanwhile, a top of the table clash and more importantly a direct spot into the final was at stake when front-runner Boston Wexford squared off against Fr. Tom Burkes, and, it was the boys from Wexford who won the big prize to the final.
Here to tell us about those games, the rest of the fixtures and look ahead to the final round of football action on Sunday is Northeast GAA, PRO Rory O’Donnell.
