#241 Boston hurling champs get good start

There was plenty to whet the appetite last weekend at Canton in the Northeast GAA Championships with crowds attending the Boston Irish Cultural Festival at the grounds taking in some exciting football and hurling action.

In senior hurling, a first round clash and repeat of the 2011 final saw Tipperary once more proving too much for Galway, while in Junior C Hurling, Portland had Worcester’s number this time around.

In mens senior football, Aidan McAnespies had a comfortable win over Connemara Gaels to go top of the table.
Donegal got back to winning ways over Kerry, while Armagh Notre Dame had their first win of the championship with a victory over Cork.
Meanwhile, Mayo secured a good draw with high flying Wolfe Tones.

Here to tell us about all the action is Boston Northeast GAA PRO and reporter, Rory O’Donnell.
