The influx of new immigrants to London this year has seen top players lining out for the Metropolitans the result of which, for the short term at the very least, has seen both the county football and hurling teams impress these past two weekends.
London footballers nearly caused the shock of the young 2011 Senior Football Championship when almost toppling visitors Mayo two weekends ago, while last Sunday at Croke Park, the hurlers aided by quality new arrivals, impressed when comfortably beating Louth to take this year’s Nicky Rackard Cup.
