This afternoon at the GAA grounds in Canton, Massachusetts, sees the first final of the new US Northeast Division season when Aidan McAnespies take on Boston Wolf Tones in the O’Brien Cup final.
The new season began three weeks ago with the start of the O’Brien Cup, and Wolfe Tones have looked impressive in getting to the final.
Their opponents, ‘McAnespies are last year’s senior championship finalists, and they will be eager to get back to winnings ways.
In the newly formatted Sheehan Hurling Cup, each of the five senior clubs involved get more games as the competition is being run this year on a round-robbin system as opposed to knock-out, and, already Boston Wexford and Fr. Tom Burke’s are showing good early form.
Here to give us a rundown on happenings in Boston since the start of the season is Boston GAA reporter and new Northeast Division PRO, Rory O’Donnell.
