#220 Warwickshire move onto ‘Meagher quarter final

Warwickshire midfielder, Shane O'Hanlon on the attack against Leitrim in Round 2B of the Lory Meagher Cup at Carrick-on-Shannon.

Warwickshire hurlers proved too much for a battling Leitrim side at Pairc Sean Mac Diarmada, Carrick-on-Shannon yesterday when taking Round 2 B of this year’s Lory Meagher Cup.
The boys from Warwickshire got off to a sluggish start, perhaps due to their arrival that morning by plane (and returned that evening) from the West Midlands region of England, but their first score of the game, a goal after 14 minutes got them on their way.
Warwickshire led by two goals at half time and though Leitrim pulled back arrears to three by the 46th minute mark, the home side were unable to reduce the deficit further.
Warwickshire’s third goal came soon after and from there they never really looked in danger and went on to win by [23] 4-11 to [17] 2-11.
