Armagh and Ulster Senior football club champions, Crossmaglen Rangers were pushed all the way by game London senior champions, Neasden Gaels in the All Ireland Senior Club Championship Football Quarter Final at Ruislip, London this afternoon.
After an even start to the contest, The Cross pushed into a narrow lead towards the end of the first half but it was all to play for in the second period as Neasden playing well only trailed by 0-5 to 0-2 at the break.
The Londoners pulled it back to a two point margin after the break before the visitors added scores to strech the lead again. But Neasden battled on and with scores of their own kept the Ulster champions within range. It was only an injury time goal by Crossmaglen that finally brought security in a somewhat flattering 1-08 to 0-05 victory.
In the All Ireland Intermediate Hurling Club Championship quarter final, played the previous day at the same venue,Kilkenny and Leinster champions, Dicksboro did enough to thwart the efforts of first time London senior champions Kilburn Gaels when recording a nine point win on a scoreline of 2-13 (19) to 2-04 (10).
Here to tell us about the action is London GAA Chairman, Tommy Harrell.
