A rather intriguing program taking place at the minute in Clanna Gael Fontenoy GAA Club, Sandymount in Dublin, sees a bunch of students from France learning how to become the next Mick O’Connell. Over the next couple of months, some 12-15 Parisian students, take part in an Erasmus third level student exchange programme, that sees them learn the basics of how to play Gaelic football. Their tutor is former club player and former Paris Gaels star, David Timoney, who each Wednesday evening puts the students through their paces at Sandymount. The program will run to Christmas and David says that any other foreign student who would like to participate (cost is free) is also welcome to join in the fun…so what are ye waitin for…’Get on your Boots!’
GaelicSportsCast spoke to Mr Timoney recently about the program.
