This Saturday will mark a very special day for Leitrim people all over the world as the heroes of the county with the smallest population in Ireland, the Connacht Champions of 1994 and All Ireland semi-finalists, Leitrim gather once more to do battle. This time the legendary team along with current Leitrim players will be donning the green and gold, to take on members of the Dublin team of 1994 and an All Ireland selection, in the cause of another Leitrim warrior, Seamus Dillon. Seamus unfortunately was left paralysed as a result of a terrible accident last year and this fundraising event is in aid of his rehabilitation.
There will be a special social event in aid of the Seamus Dillon Trust later in the evening at 8pm in the Bush Hotel in Carrick-on-Shannon where young and old will gather to reminisce about Gaelic football in Leitrim.
Tickets for the match are available at the gate with throw-in set for 3pm.
GaelicSportsCast spoke earlier to former Leitrim star, Colin Regan who along with Glenfarne native Grainne Burns, is organising this special day.
