#135 Cork tops in New York

Can NY Cork go one better than last year's runners-up finish. ( Photo courtesy of NY Cork GFC).

NY Cork finished top seed in this year’s senior football championship table when recording a comfortable win over second place and last year’s champions, Down, yesterday at Gaelic Park in the Bronx. We also saw  fourth place Tyrone dash Donegal’s hopes of making it to the playoffs with an 8 point victory and the winners now go on to play Cavan in the quarter finals in two weeks time. The other quarter final will feature third place Leitrim against sixth place Kerry with the winners of that to face Cork in the semi final at the end of September. We also had a number of important intermediate and junior football games to decide playoff spots and here to tell us about the weekend’s action in Gaelic Park is NY GAA reporter Eugene Kyne.
