In the fourth and final round of this year’s Scandinavian Mens Senior Football regional championships at Gothenburg, Sweeden last Saturday Aug 14, it was league leaders Stockholm who came away with the spoils to take this year’s title. The boys from Stockholm had a very strong squad at their disposal, complete with a number of recent former inter-county talent, when they took on the best from Malmo, Copenhagen and hosts Gothenburg – Oslo was a late withdrawal. Stockholm proved their worth when winning all three games in the tournament but they were given a test in the final when up against the host club who acquitted themselves very well but the greater football nous from the visitors won out in the end.
