Last year’s New York GAA Ladies Senior Football champions Na Fiannna took the first silverware of the season when winning the Annie Kearney Cup yesterday, Sunday July 18 at Gaelic Park in the Bronx. However things looked bleak for the champions early on as their opponents Kerry/Donegal had a 9 point lead at the half, but a goal led comeback by Na Fianna forced the game into OT which they eventually won by a three points margin in a great game. In mens senior hurling, Galway had a goal to spare over Tipperary in another thriller while in mens senior football, table toppers Down impressed when hammering Sligo. Meanwhile, a rejuvenated NY Tyrone, who last week drew with Down, forced another tie with high flyers Leitrim on Sunday. Here to tell us about the action is NY GAA reporter, Eugene Kyne.
