The second round of the Warwickshire Senior Football Championship was held last weekend in the County of Warwickshire in the West Midlands of England. St Barnabas had been unbeaten all season long but they saw their winning streak end at the hands of last year’s champions and Birmingham powerhouse, Sean McDermotts. In a very close game, ‘McDermotts held on for the narrowest of victories on a scoreline of 0-10 to 1-6 (9). In the other senior football game, John Mitchels proved much too strong for Four Masters when easing to a 2-19 (25) to 0-05 win. Longtime Warwickshire GAA official and current PRO, George McGuigan gave us a rundown on events and also told us about the Britain Junior Football final clash between winners Lancashire and London at Birmingham on Sunday.
