Last weekend saw the first round of the San Francisco Championship get under way. In the shadow of the Golden Gate Bridge at Treasure Island, the footballers were first into action with the recent St Patrick’s Cup victors, Sean Treacys waisting no time getting back to winning ways as they overcame the Celts on Saturday afternoon. Goals made all the difference in this one. Their opponents in the ‘Cup final and last year’s champions, Ulster also got their campaign off on the right foot as they scored a comfortable win over Sons of Boru. In Ladies Senior Footbal on Sunday, those eternal rivals Fog City Harps and Na Saoirse went head-to-head again with the former franking their recent ‘Cup victory. Here to tell us about these and other games is San Fran Registrar, Andrew Brennan.
