In the last round of the NSW League at Mono Park, Sydney on Sunday, the game with the most riding on it was the contest between Cormac MacAnallens and Clan Na Gael. These two were battling it out for that all important 3rd spot table placing and a ticket into this year’s league semi-finals. ‘Mac’s came out on top by 5 points on a scoreline of 2-7 (13) to 0-8. So MacAnnallen’s now will face second place and last year’s championship winners, Young Irelands in the semi-final next week. Awaiting the winner will be table toppers Michael Cusacks.
Meanwhile in the final round of hurling, first and second place ‘Shamrock’s and ‘Cusack’s went at it with the former again cementing the current good run with a 6 point win on a scoreline of ‘Shamrocks 2-12 (18) to ‘Cusacks 0-12. This sets up an eager semi final clash between ‘Cusacks and 2009 Hurling Championship winners, Craobh Padraig next Sunday.
In the Ladies, Clan na Gael and ‘Cusacks play for the right and the unenviable task of taking on the all conquering Central Coast in the final, while in Camogie, Craobh Padraig and Central Coast have to battle it out in their semi final clash with the impressive Clan na Gael awaiting the winners in the final on the morning of June 13.
