We had the clash of football champions in Round 6 of the NSW League in Mono Park, Sydney on Sunday. Last year’s League winners and current table toppers Michael Cusacks, were pitted against second place  and ’09 Championship winners Young Irelands, but it was ‘Cusacks who came out on top in this one with four points to spare in the end. In the other senior football game, Clan NaGael had a confidence boosting good win over Penrith Gaels to see them move away from sole bottom of the table tenancy and edge that bit closer to Playoff contention. In hurling, both Shamrocks and ‘Cusacks secured their position at the top of the table with wins over Craobh Padraig – an emphatic one at that – and Central Coast, respectively.
In Camogie Clan NaGael increase their lead at the top when in a close affair they edged ‘MacAnallens by two points while in the other match, Craobh Padraig moved into joint third spot when easily overcoming ‘Cusacks. Meanwhile, in Ladies football the juggernaut that is Central Coast this time rolled over ‘MacAnallens while in the second place clash, neck and neck ‘Clan and Cusacks just refuse to be separated as they battled to a hard-fought draw to remain tied in second.
