Round 5 of the NSW League in Sydney this weekend saw last year’s Hurling Championship winners Craobh Padraig turn their mediocre league form around when they recorded a four point win over joint table toppers and 2009 League champs’ Michael Cusacks. Craobh Padraig now lie in third spot on 8 points with three rounds left before the knock-out stages begin. In the other hurling fixture, Shamrocks had an easy victory over Central Coast and this win now sees them move into top spot with ‘Cusacks.
In mens football ‘Cusacks win over Clan NaGael sees them leapfrog Young Irelands at the top, however, they nearly came a cropper against bottom of the table ‘Clan who just lost out by a point.  Penrith meanwhile moved up the table when they beat ‘McAnallens by double scores with both now lying on 8 points. In ladies football Central Coast continue their unbeaten run with an emphatic win over second place Clan NaGael while Cusacks, who with their win over bottom of the table ‘McAnallens, remain in third place. In Camogie Central Coast’s win over Craobh Padraig sees them move into second spot while Clan NaGael remain in pole position as they easily defeated lowly ‘Cusacks.
