In Part 2 of GaelicSportsCast’s interview with Northern Ireland academic, author and former Antrim footballer, Dr Paul Darby about his new book, ‘Gaelic Games, Nationalism, and the Irish Diaspora in the United States,’ we hear about The ‘Big Four’ clubs in New York at the beginning of the 20th century, controversy surrounding Irish team tours to the US and the meaning that Gaelic Games stadia hold for Irish emigrants abroad.
It was good to hear mention of Cork man John O’Flynn in San Francisco for all of his good works with youth and Gaelic Games since 1994. I have to acquire the book as it seems that Darby’s work was diligent and it was a pleasure to hear the two parts of the interview.
