As Irish emigrants again spread throughout the world, so once more the games of their forefathers journey with them on their adventure. Over the freezing Winter, Gaelic Games were recently introduced to Warsaw when a hardy bunch of stalwarts decided their new land of Poland needed a Gaelic Football club and so was born – Cumann Warszawa GAA.
Secretary of the newly born club, Dublin native Colm Murphy, spoke to GaelicSportsCast about the young club.
The young clubs Facebook Page is worthy of a mention for its instinctive understanding of GAA nous – “Anyone interested in supportin, playin, organisin, makin sandwiches, cuttin oranges, linin pitches, collecting at gates, polishin boots, washin jerseys, fillin water bottles, providing financial backing, dishin abuse or meerly leanin again goalposts talking about us can you please mail me at ‘eoinsheedy@gmail.com’… So as Bono would say ‘Get on Your Boots’!! ” –
